Why in Provincetown?

Provincetown is proud of its rich heritage, history and natural resources.  Provincetown is America’s oldest art colony, the birthplace of American playwriting, named “best gay resort town,” and is a bike ride from two of America’s best beaches.    Additionally, we are proud that PTown is the number one destination for same sex weddings in America.

Schedule and Costs:

The cost for an overnight visit to this magical gay town is $75 (double occupancy p/person) or $150 (single occupancy) and includes transportation to and from Ptown by Boat from Boston (only), 1 breakfast, 1 dinner banquet, and 1 departure lunch box plus two intense learning seminars. Note: we reserve the right to increase the cost of this event after August 1st, based on hotel pricing.

“A la Familia” brings together Latin@ family members of LGBT people and Latin@ LGBT people of different ethnicities to converse about the role of faith in organizing for justice and equality. As Pride celebrations worldwide encounter barriers based on faith we foresee “A la Familia” as a tool to bring members of the faith community to support pride celebrations in America Latina and throughout the USA. The dialogue brought forth by “A la Familia” is a great tool for increasing participation of varied Christian-based allies and would be allies to increase their visibility at Pride celebrations. Ultimately, we aimed to engage Pride organizers who are interested in increasing members of the Faith community as ambassadors of Pride celebrations across America Latina and the 50 states of the USA. Presented by Lisbeth Melendez Rivera from Unid@s.

How can we raise money to build a self-sustainable Pride celebration? Where is the money? Who should participate of this process besides Board members? How can Pride be “saleable” to others as more than a “party?” At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to learn new “ways of knowing” where is the money! Participants will be able to think beyond their current Pride celebrations and think about adapting the tools presented to their own Pride activities. Be prepared to participate in this workshop and be “open” to the diversity of fundraising and development activities and how to communicate these to others. Presented by Wilfred W.
